English cricketer Ben Slater (born 26 August 1991) competes for Nottinghamshire. Slater is a right-arm off-break bowler who bats left-handed. In Derbyshire’s Chesterfield, he was born.

Slater attended Netherthorpe School for his early education before attending Leeds Metropolitan University to study sports and business management. He was chosen to play for Leeds/Bradford MCCU while still an undergraduate, making his first-class debut in the team’s inaugural first-class game against Surrey at The Oval in 2012. During that same season, he played against Yorkshire at Headingley in his second first-class outing for the club. He also played for Derbyshire in the 2012 campaign. Slater recorded his first double century in first-class cricket in April 2022 during the 2022 County Championship.
